Lucaci 16 is Bucharest’s first urban winery.

Our wines are made locally, in the centre of the city, from carefully selected grapes from renowned Romanian vineyards.

The magic happens in a corner of town full of stories – the historic Lucaci neighbourhood, one of Bucharest’s oldest, mentioned in the poems of Anton Pann.

Here we continue the local tradition of Bucharest families making wine in the vine-covered courtyards of the old houses in the city centre.

A marvellous late 19th-century villa, marked by the passing of time, is where our wines are created.

Once the home of a merchant family and later a music school, it is a place with an interesting past and an unexpected future.

We produce varietal wines from noble grape varieties grown in Dobrogea, Dealu Mare and Vrancea.

Always in small quantities, so we can experiment and control the winemaking process down to the smallest detail.

Innovation is the essence of our process. We use professional winemaking equipment and thoroughly controlled processes.

Our grapes are hand-picked into small crates, destemmed without crushing on a conveyor belt and turned into must without pressing.

The adventure started in 2012 with 2 barrels of red wine and went on year after year, building a small community of people passionate about quality wine.

In 2019, with enough experience to share our wines with the public, we launched Crama Urbană Lucaci 16 – Bucharest’s first urban winery!
