Lucaci16 is Bucharest’s first Urban Winery.
Our wines are locally produced in the center of the city
using carefully selected grapes from famous Romanian vineyards.
The magic happens in a story-worthy part of town – the historical Lucaci neighbourhood –
one of Bucharest’s oldest areas, mentioned in the poems of Anton Pann.
Here we continue the local tradition of families making wine
covered yards of old houses in the center of the city.
A marvelous late 19th century villa, scarred by the passing of time,
houses the creation of our wines.
Once the home of a merchant’s family and later a music school,
it is a place with an interesting story and an unexpected future ahead.
We produce quality wine from grapes of noble varieties harvested from Dobrogea, Dealu Mare and Vrancea.
Always in small quantities, so we can experiment and control the wine-making process to the smallest detail.
Inovation is the essence of our process.
In our winery, we use professional equipment and thoroughly controlled crafting.
The grapes we use are hand-picked, stored in small chests,
handled without crushing on the conveyor belt, and transformed into grape must without pressing.
The adventure started in 2012 with 3 barrels of red wine and went on year by year,
creatinf a small community of people passionate about quality wine.
In 2019, with enough experience to share our wines publicly,
we launched Crama Urbana16, Bucharest’s First Urban Winery.!
